Jose Maria Iriarte

Welcome to my website!

I’m a software engineer and lifelong learner with a multidisciplinary background spanning political science, economics, foreign languages, mathematics, and computer science. My professional interests sit at the intersection of engineering rigor, systems thinking, and continuous learning.

As of mid-2026, I work as an independent .NET consultant specializing in system stabilization, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting. My work increasingly combines traditional engineering practices with AI-assisted development and modern observability tooling to diagnose complex systems, improve reliability, and help teams resolve difficult technical problems efficiently.

Alongside my engineering work, I've renewed a long-standing interest in political economy, the sciences, the humanities, and foreign languages through regular reading. I enjoy following developments across a wide range of disciplines, both to satisfy my curiosity and to broaden the perspective I bring to technical work.

Outside of work, I'm involved in a number of ongoing personal projects and remain committed to maintaining a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. This includes yoga, stretching, jogging, and strength training, as well as pursuing interests that extend well beyond software engineering.

I value time spent with friends and family — especially my niece and nephews, parents, and sister — and I take a practical interest in personal finance, investing, and staying casually informed through social media. As an avid learner, I’m particularly drawn to psychology and personal development, with a focus on negotiation, personality, nutrition, exercise, and interpersonal relationships.

This site currently serves as a hub for my work and includes - but is not limited to - professional video introductions, links to my social media presence, and sample video application walkthroughs. I hope you find something here that’s useful, interesting, or worth returning to.

Thank you for visiting!
